Case Study 1 — 6-Week Progress
Day 0: the nail plate presents with yellow-brown discoloration, marked distal thickening and a crumbly, dystrophic free edge with visible subungual debris, changes typically associated with fungal nail involvement. Week 6: the most striking change is in plate bulk. The thickened, crumbly keratin is visibly reduced, leaving a flatter, more compact plate that sits closer to the nail bed, while the proximal nail grows in clearer and the periungual skin appears calmer.
Case Study 2 — The 90-Day Protocol
Start: diffuse yellowing, longitudinal ridging and surface irregularity across the plate, with dull, flaky keratin toward the free edge. Day 30: early proximal clearing; mid-plate striations and isolated dark streaks persist. Day 60: new growth continues to come in smoother and clearer as the involved plate advances distally. Day 90: the visible plate is substantially clearer and smoother with improved translucency, as new nail has replaced most of the previously involved portion.

One client, photographed at each visit from May 2026 to October 2026. Visit 1: multiple nails present with marked dystrophy. The hallux plate is grossly thickened, with dense, crumbly subungual keratin lifting the free edge, and the lesser nails show yellow-brown discolouration, flaking and ragged free edges, changes typically associated with fungal nail involvement. With routine in-clinic care and the soak-and-spray routine at home between appointments, the plates present progressively debulked, flatter and more compact against the nail bed. By the most recent visit the crumbly keratin is largely gone and clearer, smoother nail is advancing from the proximal fold across all involved nails.

When Tom first asked me to look at IodinePure, I did what any researcher does, I read the chemistry before I read the marketing.
What stood out was how simple it is: two ingredients. Elemental iodine, stabilized in water. No alcohol carriers, no synthetic stabilizers, no harsh solvents, the shortcuts most iodine products rely on.
Iodine has been used in personal care since the 1800s. What has changed is how it's made. I authored a white paper examining why a truly aqueous, water-based iodine behaves differently from the alcohol-based solutions on most shelves, and why stabilization and formulation matter when you use something on your nails and skin every day.

How long until I see a difference?
Nails grow about 3 mm a month, so improvement shows in the new growth over 90 days, full grow-out usually takes 9–12 months. Consistency is everything, which is why the routine is built around a 90-day commitment.
How do I use it?
