Does iodine help athlete's foot?

Iodine is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial with documented activity against the dermatophytes behind athlete's foot, and it has been used on skin in clinical settings since the 1800s. Sole Shield puts that in a two-ingredient water-based spray you can use daily on feet and, just as importantly, inside your shoes.

Why spray the inside of my shoes?

Because your shoes are the part everyone skips. The inside of a shoe is warm, dark, damp, and never washed, so it re-contaminates clean feet every single morning. Treating feet alone is why athlete's foot and odor keep coming back. Spray the toe box and insole after each wear and let them air out.

Will it stop foot odor?

Foot odor comes from bacteria feeding on sweat in your footwear, so Sole Shield works on both halves: the skin and the shoe interior. Unlike a deodorant, it is not masking the smell with fragrance, and unlike a foot-only routine it does not leave the source untreated.

Does it sting or stain?

No. Two ingredients, elemental iodine and pure water, with no alcohol, so it does not sting on cracked heels or between the toes, and being decolorized it will not stain skin, socks, or shoes.

How do I use it?

After showering, dry your feet completely, especially between the toes. Spray the soles and between the toes and let it dry for about 60 seconds before socks. Spray inside your shoes or boots after you take them off so they can dry out. Spray again after gyms, pools, locker rooms, or shared showers.

Can I use it on gym gear, skates, or cleats?

Yes. It is designed for feet, between the toes, and the inside of footwear, and people also use it on skates, cleats, gym bags, and training mats, anywhere sweat and shared contact create a fungal environment.

Is it safe to use every day?
